Week 4
Day 1 photos.
Friday, February 10th, 2012 - Weigh In!
Week 4 weight loss, -3 lbs = -34 lbs to date.
I guess the plateau had to come...with 34 lbs lost to date its hard to be upset, BUT..I'm a little dissapointed in that number. There are lots of legitimate explanations for the tapering off of my weight loss while still maintaining the rigorous schedule and diet. While I do realize that my results so far have been very good, I was really hoping to not only acheive but crush the current record of 48 lbs lost in 6 weeks. Beating it is still possible, so I'm going to make a few tweeks in my workout schedule and diet, we'll see what happens. I don't have any desire to do anything extreme to acheive that goal, I want to continue to listen to my body and go forward in a healthy manor. Last week was a bit of an experiment, going to OTF six out of the seven days and not walking, biking or playing hockey on top of it. That doesn't appear to be the successful recipe. Not that it means anything right now...but I was told by OTF today that as of week 3 I was in first place. I'm pretty sure that was in our local competition, I have no idea what's going on nationally. Let's hope I can recharge those fat burners and put up some bigger numbers the final two weeks.

I adjusted my original schedule a bit last weekend by working out Sunday instead of Saturday. This put me working out Sun, Mon, Tue, with my planned rest day Wed. Since I'm into the last half of this thing I decided to see how I felt not taking that Wed off. It's Thurs and I worked out this morning as well, making 5 days in a row of OTF. I thought I would feel worse, but actually don't feel bad at all. I noticed feeling a little tired while working out but not exhausted, no pain or injury type feelings. Some of the pains I had been feeling have actually subsided rather than getting worse as I feared. My normal schedule has me working out Fri and Sat as well, so I'll be at 7 days in a row before I take Sunday off. It will be interesting to see how I feel after that and how weigh in goes tomorrow. I haven't played hockey or done any long walks this week...and there was the Super Bowl, but I didn't really stray from my diet much that day. All three previous weeks I got on my scale at home around Tues or Wed, last week it kind of discouraged me so I have not done it this week. I do feel like I've lost more weight but have a hard time telling how much, I'll wager another 5 lbs. The workouts have continued to be great, I consistently get the times in the zones that OTF would like to see. It has held true that when I do the circuit training first my orange zone time is lower. I've switched it up some this week knowing that I was going to be doing a long string of back to back days. I don't think they recommend going that often but I feel great and am going to see how this week turns out, I might skip my Wed rest day next week too!

Tuesday of Week 4 all ready?? This is the week that even before this started I've been nervous about. For one..the Super Bowl, I usually host a party and from wake up to pass out it's glutuny at it's finest. I know my weaknesses and final game day presents me with ALL of them and more, so I decided against hosting a party this year. I did splurge a little bit...I had one chicken wing, one piece of bruschetta, and half of a mini cupcake. Did you know ONE chicken wing is 6 points on the weight watchers plan!? That's with out blue cheese! Our bigger meal was kabobs from the Fresh Market, I didn't feel bad about the grilled chicken, filet mignon, and veggies, all lightly seasoned and had in moderation. Kabobs were a great choice for that day (thanks babe!) They still feel like party food for some reason. I'm also a bit nervous about continuing to put up bigger weight loss numbers. My mind is telling me it should be harder and harder each week. I'm sticking to my diet and workout plan, I've done less walking because my body feels it needs more rest. I do feel strong as of today so am going start up the walks again and probably get back on the bike, I think that would be a good change of pace. To reach my goal this old frame is going to have to hold up to a few more weeks of pretty intense work outs. The National final weigh in is February 19th, almost a full week before the local, so I am hoping to push pretty hard the next two weeks. I should probably stock up on ice packs and Icy Hot, I think I'll need it.
